Makarand Deshpande, who stormed the Bollywood scene with RGV’s ‘Satya’, has remained a strapping figure in the Indian film industry for a while now. The much acclaimed theatre artiste is all set to make his debut in Malayalam films, and would be seen in the role of a lorry driver in M A Nishad’s new film ‘No: 66 Madhura Bus’.
Makarand while interacting with a prominent Malayalam news channel, revealed that he finds the film folks in Malayalam truly focussed. He was introduced to the director by a common friend, and was impressed that the director was absolutely convinced as to why he wanted Makarand for the role.
Its the script of the film which had Makarand floored. “There is a protagonist and antagonist; and the antagonist is very powerful,” says the actor. “He had asked me for the script, and said that he was going to do the film, the moment he read it,” adds M A Nishad.
