Nayantara: Bye Bye Time for The Tabloid Girl
Probably no other actress has so much remained in the news for all the wrong reasons in recent times as Nayantara. It all started with the coy girl who started off with Sathyan Anthikkad’s ‘Manassinakkare’ shifting to Tamil cinema, and soon moving on to become one of the busiest actresses that South India has ever seen.
Along with the name and fame, came her share of controversies. First, the media went bonkers over her alleged romance with Tamil actor Chimbu, and their breakup some time after. Nayantara has categorically denied the existence of any such affair. There was a period of almost silence that followed, as the actress moved on to Telugu cinema as well, and reigned as a movie queen there. This did not however last for long, and we saw Nayantara back under the spotlight again, and this time along with her was Prabhu Deva. Their love story was tarnished with Prabhu’s wife Ramalath calling foul and taking the matter to the family court, and it took a while before there was an amicable settlement.
And now, Nayantara has the media hot on her heels once again, for according to media reports, she has converted to Hinduism on the 7th of August 2011 at the Arya Samaj temple in Chennai. Nayantara, who was a Christian named Diana Mariam Kurian, has also officially accepted her screen name as her original name following the conversion.
The actress has also reportedly put an end to her acting career, and hopes to comfortably settle down to matrimony. We hope, that she would be left at peace at least now, for any person – actress or otherwise – simple deserves to be left alone at times.
