Shobana makes an Alluring Krishna!
Today, most of the actresses who enter the film industry, claim to be classical dancers in their own right. Dance has always been a passion, they say. Yet very few of them are actually seen pursuing their passion off screen. Perhaps its true, that they don’t make them like Shobana any more.
Shobana, who has remained one of the most loved actresses in the Malayalam film industry, has been a dancer first, and actor second. After having an eminently successful career in films, she chose to excel in her passion further, and went on to enthrall audiences across the world, with one dance performance after the other.
After the delightful Mayaravan, Shobana is now ready with ‘The Krishna Chronicles’, a dance drama that would have her playing none less than Lord Krishna himself. She has an excellent technical team behind her including Resul Pookkutty, in charge of the sound design and Rajeevan who would do the art direction. Choreography and direction is by Shobana herself.
Several celebrities have lent their voice to the characters including Mohanlal, Surya, Shabana Azmi, Konkana Sen and Nandita Das. Prabhu will appear as Bheema, Radhika would be Devki and Milind Soman would be Duryodhan. The premiere show of the play would be at Chennai on the 22nd of September, 2011.
