Kerala State Film Awards 2011 (Films of 2010)

Salim Ahmed’s ‘Adaminte Makan Abu’,  has struck gold again. The film which bagged four National Awards last week, won four Kerala state film awards as well. This includes the awards for best film, best actor, best script and best music direction.

The Minister in-charge of Films K.B. Ganesh Kumar announced the awards here today. Renowned Bengali filmmaker Buddadev Dasgupta, was the chairperson of this year’s jury.  Salim Kumar said that he was delighted to have won the national and state film awards for best actor.  Kavya Madhavan who won the Best Actress award for ‘Gaddhama’ said that her winning the award should be seen as an award for the entire film unit.

Shyamaprasad was chosen the best director for ‘Electra’. Ranjith’s  ‘Pranchiettan and the Saint’ has been adjudged the most popular film. The second best actor is Biju Menon (‘T.P. Dasan Std 6 B’), and the second best actress is Mamta Mohandas (‘Katha Thudarannu’). The best comedian is Suraj Venjaramoodu (‘Oru Nallu Varum’). The best photographer award has been shared by S.Jalal (‘Chithra Suthram’) and M.J.Radhakrishnan (‘Veetilekkulla Vazhi’).
