Desi Boyz (2011) Review Aggregator

Submitted by on November 25, 2011 – 11:58 pmNo Comment |

Desi Boyz that stars John Abraham and Akshay Kumar along with Deepika Padukone and Chithrangadha Singh, with the boys playing male escorts has made it to the screens. Reviews range from average to plain bad.

Rediff doesn’t have many nice things to say about it: “Being a male escort and servicing lonely women in their time of need is clearly not a job for the squeamish. Neither is watching Rohit Dhawan’s Desi Boyz, a film that paints so ridiculously rosy a picture of the gigolo life that it plays like a recruitment film sponsored by pimps.”

Hindustan Times looks a bit too hesitant to give it an above 2 star rating: “Songs survive. Films rarely do. Filmmakers themselves don’t care enough about the characters. Why should the audience, so what’s the point?”

DNA India calls it tolerable: “The one thing I can say about Desi Boyz is that it’s tolerable. If your expectations are low, you may not be disappointed with Desi Boyz. To be fair, it’s Akshay Kumar’s best film in quite a few years.”
