Focal Point – Goodbye Solo (2008)

Goodbye Solo is a 2008 American independent film that was written and directed by Ramin Bahrani.The film tells the story of two men who form an unlikely friendship that changes both of their lives forever.

The film premiered as an official selection of the 2008 Venice Film Festival where it won the international film critic’s FIPRESCI award for best film, and later had its North American premiere at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival.

The film that stars Souleymane Sy Savane, Red West and Diana Franco Galindo in the lead roles holds a whopping 95% Fresh Rating on Rotten Tomatoes (out of 98 reviews). On Metacritic it holds a good score as well (89/100). The film has been rated R for language by the MPAA.
