Sohan Roy’s Dam 999 Gets Ready in 3D
Remember all those controversies surrounding the English film Dam999 that was proposed to be shot in Kerala a few months back? Veteran actor Thilakan, who was supposed to do a vital role in the film, had got embroiled in a fight with AMMA, the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists, following which the shoot of the film had come to a standstill for a while. Shooting was soon resumed, and Thilakan was no longer a part of the film, that has been directed by Sohan Roy.
Now, several months later, the film that had literally run into troubled waters (ironically it tells the story of a water bomb) is ready for release. And what’s more, it would arrive in 3D! The film revolves around a hundred year old dam that had been built during the British rule in India. No prizes for guessing that the dam collapses in the film, and along with itthe emotional barricades erected by the film’s lead characters.
Dam 999 stars Ashish Vidyarthi, along with Joshua Frederic Smith, Rajit Kapur, Vinay Rai, Linda Arsenio, Vimala Raman, Megha Burman and Jineeth Rath along with several other actors. Cinematography is by Ajayan Vincent and music by Ouseppachan. Warner Bros. will release DAM999 in India in both 2D and 3D on 4th of November 2011.
