Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’ not a remake of ‘Azaad’, says director

velayutham tamil mp3 songs 192x300 Vijays Velayudham not a remake of Azaad, says directorVelayudham, Vijay’s upcoming action film has been directed by M. Raja. The film has three heroines namely Genelia D’Souza, Hansika Motwani and Saranya Mohan.

Vijay would portray a villager in the film. Genelia D’Souza, plays the role of a journalist in the film, and Hansika Motwani plays Vijay’s love interest.  Saranya Mohan would play the sister to Vijay’s character.

Its rumored that the film is a remake of the 2000 Telugu film Azad that starred late Soundarya as a journalist and Akkineni Nagarjuna as a villager. The director M. Raja, however claims that the film is no remake, and that it is based on his own story.

Hollywood stunt director Tom Delmar has choreographed the stunts in the film. The musical score of the film has been composed by Vijay Antony. The film was formally launched on July 15, 2010. Produced by V. Ravichandran’s Aascar Films, the film is currently in its post-production stage and is expected grace the screens in July 2011.
