7am arivu movie posters 5 188x300 7am Arivu (2011) Review Aggregator7aum Arivu, the science fiction thriller film written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss, starring Suriya, in double roles, and Shruti Haasan, has been released on Diwali day. Reviews are mostly positive, barring one or two.

Rediff suggests that the film is worth a watch: “7am Arivu has several things working for it — its historical background, and a rock-solid villain who uses mind-control, and an intelligent heroine, among other things. You just wish they had utilized all these ingredients better.”

IndiaGlitz prefers to ignore its preachy tone, and is awed by the grandeur of the film: “The film takes us to the era of our valorous forefathers, explains their greatness, brings us back to the present, entertains us and ends up giving a message. Though a preachy tone at places could have been avoided, there is no denying that ’7aum Arivu is one of the biggest entertainers of the year.”

Sify is confused about the terminology used: “If you are looking for a racy, straight forward action entertainer from the trio, 7 aum Arivu is a let-down as you have to suspend disbelief, logic and common sense. Terms such as DNA transplant, hypnotism, bio-war are bandied about making it confusing.”
