Ready (2011) Review Aggregator
Salman Khan and Asin star in Aneez Bazmee’s ‘Ready’ that was released today. Ehem, but the critics do not seem all ready to welcome this flick with open arms.
Raja Sen of Rediff says it falls flat: “The plot, that revolves around two warring mafia families trying to nab a young girl’s inheritance, unfolds simply, conveniently, and very predictably indeed. Those who are clapping for this film almost got the phrase right, only it’s more extortionate than value for money: the accurate term is “paisa vasooli.” Pay up.”
Ready is not so steady, feels Livemint: “It’s almost like a big tribute to, and summarized resume of, Khan’s films. In one scene, Khan pokes fun at his own obsession with removing his shirt. Such laughs are punched into the script, but they come only occasionally. The first half is inordinately tedious and the entire film is unabashedly vacuous.”
Nowrunning thinks its a brainless flick: “With the kind of efforts Salman is putting in promoting this film, wonder what even 10 per cent of that into acting could’ve done for the film. Salman is not only taut throughout but also hamming. If you are not ready for a brainless flick do not go for Ready.”
