Retro Music Gems: Rasm-e-Ulfat Ko Nibhaye (Dil Ki Rahen)

Submitted by on August 9, 2011 – 7:37 pmNo Comment |

Rasm-e-ulfat Ko Nibhaayen To Nibhaayen Kaise.. Har Taraf Aag Hai Daaman Ko Bachaayen Kaise… goes the lyrics of this gem of a song from the 1973 released Dil Ki Rahein. Sung melodiously by Lata Mangeshkar, and composed by Madan Mohan in Raga Multani, Rasm-e-ulfat was penned by Naqsh Lyalpuri.

We couldn’t find the video of the original song, but much to our surprise, chanced upon this gem of a video that matches this beautiful song to the graceful moves of Fred Astaire, Eleanor Powell, Rita Hayworth, Cyd Charisse as well as Lisa Miles and Tim Balfour. Truly a delight to watch!
