Rivaaz (2011) Review Aggregator
Deeksha Screen Entertainment and Laurel Entertainment’s Rivaaz that explores the issue of family prostitution has been released. From the looks of it, this is a film that has got almost everything working against it. This is what the critics say:
Rediff has something to say to the director: “A word to the director Ashok Kumar Nanda. Sir, this is not a film. At least not a serious one. Not a satire either. Not even a stage-show. I’m not sure what it really is. Prostitution, even when it’s the subject of a joke, doesn’t make me laugh. And here, I guffawed.”
Koimoi feels that director has faltered big time: “Ashok Nanda’s direction is terrible. He is unable to get the audience interested in the drama even for a single moment. Plus, his narrative style belongs to an era gone by. He is unable to extract any meaningful contributions from his cast.”
Nowrunning found it unbearable: “Rivaaz could make for a hard-hitting watch had it been for good execution. It’s unbearable in its current state. Best avoided.”
