If you thought TV anchor Ranjini Haridas, was being flooded with marriage proposals, you better think again. Ranjini revealed in an interview to a prominent Malayalam daily recently that she doesn’t get that many marriage proposals, probably because people knew the kind of bold woman that she is!

Ranjini says she doesn’t understand why sex is still a taboo topic in a state like Kerala. She talks of a country like the US which has adopted a much more progressive stand on the topic. Ranjini says that there is a dire need for sex education as well in Kerala.

Sex education could help avoid the transmission of STDs, as well as unwanted pregnancies and abortions. “The Constitution has permitted a man who is above twenty one years of age, and a woman who is above eighteen years of age, to have a consensual relationship. That the society doesn’t approve of pre-marital sex is another matter altogether,” says Ranjini.

The super hot TV anchor also made it clear that she wouldn’t mind acting in films, if the right role comes along. She admits of having tasted liquor, and shrugs that she doesn’t find getting drunk exciting at all. Here is wishing the gutsy girl the very best in life! Rock on, Ranjini!
