Seniors (2011) Review Aggregator
Remember Vaishakh? The young director who directed the blockbuster of last year ‘Pokkiri Raja’ has just had his second release – ‘Seniors’. The film that has been scripted by Sachi and Sethu looks like a mixture of comedy and suspense. The reviews haven’t been too supportive.
Nowrunning feels that these Seniors were best kept far, far away from the campus: “There is a Malayalam adage that you are reminded of, while watching Vaishakh’s new film ‘Seniors’ – A calf frolicking around makes a sweet scene, but what if it’s a bull? This could be the movie you are on the lookout for, if you find four middle aged men who are back on campus for a reason, gawking open mouthed at the lady lecturer’s midriff, funny.”
Rediff says its a cheap comedy: “There is very little to talk as far as performances of the four leading men go; it is not their fault that they chose to work with such a film. The only natural thing about them is the beer belly they sport! Seniors may turn out to be a commercial success. But for the discerning viewer, it is just a cheap comedy.”
For Sify, its an Okay entertainer: “Seniors is perhaps expected to be enjoyed without thinking too much about the logic or the lack of it. With not many worthy options to choose from, this one could qualify as an Okay entertainer.”
