Veettilekkulla Vazhi (2011) Review Aggregator

Dr. Biju’s National Award Winning film Veettilekkulla Vazhi has been finally released. The release of the film that has long been ready has been delayed due to several reasons. Veettilekkulla Vazhi stars Prithviraj along with Indrajith, Dhanya Mary Varghese, Govardhan, Irshad, Kiran Raj, Vinay Fort Cochin and several other actors. Here is what the critics have to say.

Rediff finds it impressive: “The film can also be seen as a ‘road movie’ where we are shown new vistas and new modes of transport every few minutes. The film appears very simple on the surface and it’s difficult to make out whether this is intentional; a deliberately minimalist approach – or a flaw.On the whole, despite its flaws and minor glitches in the plot, Veettilekkula Vazhi raises the hope that Malayalam cinema is on the path of revival.”

Nowrunning is slightly less ecstatic: “Veetilekkulla Vazhi (The Road Home) probes into the by now familiar and much discussed issue of terrorism, and in doing so doesn’t really break any new ground. As it stands however, it remains a commanding statement on the worthlessness of wars fought in the name of religion.”
