Vellaripravinte Changathy (2011) Review Aggregator

The last release of the year, Akku Akbar’s ‘Vellaripravinte Changathy’ that stars Dileep, Kavya Madhavan and Manoj K Jayan in the lead roles has been released, and the reviewers sound mixed in their opinion of the film.

Rediff thinks of it as unimpressive: “Vellaripravinte Changathi has a rather implausible ending when the film that has been in the cans for nearly 41 years is formally released. In the beginning it feels like a film within a film. Then it goes deep into the history of the industry. And, in the end it just becomes a love story of yesteryears with a tragic end.”

Nowrunning feels the efforts are there, but bear little fruit: “Vellaripravinte Changathi’ is a film that comes this close to being a charmer, but which in time, loses it all. The valiant efforts are there for sure, and it’s sad that they haven’t translated to film, as much as they should have.”

Sify finds it Average, and calls it an honest attempt: “It is evident that some real hard work has gone into the making of Vellaripravinte Changathi , which should be appreciated. But still, the film ends up as a half baked one, at best.”
