1 Crore for Mohanlal: The Priyadarshan – Ratan Jain dispute continues!
Strange are the ways of the industry. Director Priyadarshan apparently hasn’t taken too kindly to producer Ratan Jain’s insistence that actor Mohanlal has little market in Bollywood. The director, who also happens to be a close friend of the actor feels that Mohanlal be paid his market price of 1 crore for his cameo in the Hindi film ‘Tezz’, if news reports are to be believed.
Priyan feels that its only on his insistence that Mohanlal had decided to act in the Hindi film, since otherwise Bollywood doesn’t interest him at all. And as such, the actor has to be paid according to the market price that he claims in the South Indian industry, he adds.
‘Tezz’ stars Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles, while Mohanlal would make a guest appearance as Shivan Menon, a police officer based in the UK. The producer has however chosen not to respond to the controversy, and the film is expected to hit theatres on 27 April, 2012.
