Bob Biswas: The Vulnerable Villain becomes a rage!

Submitted by on March 25, 2012 – 10:25 amNo Comment | 545 views

I still remember having watched ‘Kahaani’ and when he came on screen with the vulnerable face of his, I was already saying ‘God save the poor man’s soul’. Out he pops with a revolver tucked deep inside, and I was like, ‘What on the name of Holy Earth is going on here?”

Enter Bob Biswas, the cold-blooded, calculative killer in Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Kahaani’. What makes this villain so adorable perhaps is the lack of definitive muscles and that clout that we had come to identify with men with shades of grey. Bob is a simple man like you and me, except that he kills people for a living. And when he isnt busy doing what he does best, he sells insurance policies for a living.

Saswata Chatterjee, the Bengali actor who played Bob Biswas, is all set to receive an iconic status, since nothing short of a comic book is being planned on the character. He is a huge hit on social networking websites, and his fan following is doubling by the day. The vulnerable villain, in short, has become a rage among cinephiles!
