The film was much noted for Mohanlal’s character in it, named Sagar Alias Jacky. Over the years, the film has almost achieved an iconic status among actions films in Malayalam.

K Madhu has revealed recently, that in this age of remakes, he is ready to remake his own film. But the task of re scripting the movie would be up to S N Swami. Madhu also added that if Mohanlal is willing to star in the film, he would be glad to direct the character of Sagar Alias Jacky again.
