Ram Gopal Verma thinks of ‘Nishabd’ as Bachchan’s best performance!

Ram Gopal Verma is a director who has never hidden his admiration for Amitabh Bachchan. RGV has worked with the Big B several times already, and when quizzed about what he thought of Amitabh’s performances in films, revealed that ‘Nishabd’ was his best as yet.

Nishabd was a 2007 Hindi movie that was directed by Ram Gopal Varma himself, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jiah Khan. The film was inspired from ‘American Beauty’ and from the storyline of 1986 film ‘Anokha Rishta’ starring Rajesh Khanna. It also starred Revathy and Nassar in key roles.

Verma however is busy at the moment with his new film ‘Department’ that again has Amitabh Bachchan playing the lead role along with Sanjay Dutt and Rana Daggubati.  Big B has been cast in the role of Sarjerao Gaikwad, a gangster-turned politician in the film. The film has been scheduled for a May 18 release.
