Shamili is back in Malayalam films!
We still remember the trauma of rescuing her from the hole into which she had fallen in Bharathan’s ‘Malootty’, and the adorable kid had stayed on with us ever since. Her role as the mentally challenged kid in ‘Anjali’ was one that wowed us as well and which fetched her the National Award for Best Child Artiste. She had gone on to act in several films as a child artiste in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
We later saw her as a teenager along with Mammootty and Mohanlal in the film ‘Harikrishnans’. We didn’t get to hear much of her, ever since she grew up to be a big girl, until we saw her along with Sidharth, as his heroine in the Telugu film ‘Oy!’, which unfortunately didn’t do that well at the box office.
We hear that Shamili is back in Malayalam films now, and would be seen playing the lead female role in a film that would be directed by Parthasarathy. Great news to have the charming actress back, and we hope that she has an illustrious career in Malayalam films!
