Director Roopa Iyer has cast the beautiful Shriya Saran as a princess in her upcoming film ‘Chandra’ that would tell the story of love of a princess! Reportedly its the classical Indian looks of the actress, combined with her style that had prompted the director to approach her with the offer. Prem would play hero to Shriya’s heroine.

Ramya Krishnan, Sumithra and Girish Karnad would lend support. This would be the first time Shriya Saran would be seen in a Kannada film. ‘Chandra’ however would be shot as a bilingual.

Roopa had received eight international awards for her movie ‘Mukhaputa – The Cover Pag’ which marked her debut as a director and producer. Along with International awards she even bagged two Karnataka State awards including the movie with the best societal concerns for the year 2010 by Government of Karnataka.
