tamanna bhatia 4 280x300 Tamannaah Bhatia signs Himmatwala opposite Ajay Devgn!Tamanna Bhatia seems to have got quite an awesome project in her kitty, if reports to be believed. The actress might step into Sridevi’s shoes, to do the role that Sridevi had done in the film ‘Himmatwala’ years back. Yes, Tamannah would play the lead female role in the remake of the film to be directed by Sajid Khan and starring Ajay Devgn.

It is said that even actresses like Katrina Kai and Anushka Sharma were considered for the role, but looks like its Tamannah who turned lucky. Sridevi’s appearance in ‘Himmatwala’ had become the talk of the town, and Tamammah’s role would undergo a drastic change as is appropriate to the changing times.

The shooting of the ‘Himmatwala’ remake is expected to start in August 2012. The original ‘Himmatwala’ was released in 1983 and was directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, starring Jeetendra and Sridevi. It was a remake of a Telugu film ‘Ooriki Monagadu’ of 1981, which was also directed by K. Raghavendra Rao starring Krishna and Jaya Prada.
