Submitted by on March 16, 2012 – 5:48 pmNo Comment |

Blood Money is a thriller film that has been directed by Vishal Mahadkar, and produced by Mahesh Bhatt. The film stars Kunal Khemu opposite Amrita Puri in lead rolesand is a sequel to the team’s film Kalyug (2005), which also starred Khemu and was produced by Bhatt. It is scheduled for release on 30 March 2012.

The film was earlier titled as Kalyug 2 due to similar story structure by the producer of the film, Mahesh Bhatt, but was later changed to Blood Money as the director wanted the original title for his movie. There have also been comparisons with the English film ‘Blood Diamond’ and the Hindi film ‘Naam’, though the makers insist that their film is totally different.

The film’s soundtrack was released on February 19, 2012 and it was composed by Jeet Ganguly, Pranay, Sangeet Haldipur and Siddharth Haldipur and lyrics were penned by Sayeed Quadri, Kumaar. Set in Cape Town, the film explores the world of diamond exporting and is said to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller!
