Dibakar Banerjee’s new film ‘Shanghai’ has been making waves even before its release, and now director Anurag Kashyap has added to the pre-release excitement by commenting that it’s the best film that he has ever watched. Anurag also added that Dibakar is the best film director in the country! He also tweeted that ‘Shanghai’ was the ‘visceral, stunning and ballsiest film ever made in this country’!!

For  ‘Shanghai’, director Dibakar Banerjee has adapted Vassilis Vassiliko’s novel ‘Z’ to the Indian context and pulls absolutely no punches in its depiction of contemporary Indian realities.  Emraan Hashmi, Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Amin Raj appear in key roles in the film.

The music has been composed by  Vishal-Shekhar, while the cinematography is by Nikos Andritsakis. Editing has been done by Namrata Rao. The film will be released on the 8th of June, 2012, by PVR Pictures!
