Anwar let the writer in me roam loose: Anjaly Menon

Submitted by on June 26, 2012 – 10:52 pmNo Comment | 408 views

Anjaly Menon, whose directorial debut ‘Manjadikkuru’ had earned rave reviews, says that her stint as a writer has been quite exciting. Anjaly has scripted the film ‘Ustad Hotel’ that would grace the screens this Friday. ‘Ustad Hotel’ has been directed by Anwar Rasheed.

Anjaly says that though she was relatively new to the industry, the kind of support that she had received from the ‘Ustad Hotel’ crew was immense. She admits that the commercial prospects of a film seldom enter her mind, while she is penning a script. Anwar, is a director who knows the pulse of the audience, and yet he had granted her total freedom when it came to the ‘Ustad Hotel’ script, Anjaly remembers.

‘Ustad Hotel’ stars Dulqer Salman and Nithya Menon in the lead roles. There is also veteran actor Thilakan doing  a key role in the film.
