Mani Ratnam to sign Thulasi Nair in place of Samantha for ‘Kadal’?
Its not every day that an actress leaves a Mani Ratnam project, citing date issues, but Samantha Ruth Prabhu has apparently done the unthinkable. The charming actress who was to do the lead role in the director’s new film ‘Kadal’ has walked out of the project since there was no way in which she could coordinate her dates for the shoot!
Whatever be the case, Mani ratnam has been reported to be considering Thulasi Nair as Samantha’s substitute. In case you are wondering who Thulasi Nair is, she is the beautiful young daughter of yesteryear actress Radha, and sister to actress Karthika Nair!
Thulasi is reportedly a ninth grade student, who was initially considered for the film. Now, with Samantha out of the picture, Mani Ratnam is said to be reconsidering the pairing of Thulasi with Gautham, who plays the male lead in the film, and who also happens to be the son of yesteryear actor Karthik. This would indeed be an interesting pair, since Karthik and Radha had made their debut together in Tamil films years back with the film ‘ Alaigal Oyivathillai’.
