Focal Point – Catfish (2010)

Catfish is a 2010 American documentary film, directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman and involving a young man being filmed by his brother and friend as he builds a romantic relationship with a young woman on the social networking website Facebook.

The film has been rated PG-13 for some sexual references and is often considered to be one of the most popular documentaries in recent times. It was filmed on locations at Michigan and New York. The film was released on September 17, 2010.

Catfish has a running time of  1 hour and 34 minutes. Starring Melody C. Roscher, Ariel Schulman, Yaniv Schulman and Angela Wesselman-Pierce, the film has been belived by many as a ‘fake documentary’, the authenticity of which has been questioned. The film received an 82% “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
