Will ‘Midnight’s Children’ be screened in India?

Reports have poured in that Deepa Mehta’s new film ‘Midnight’s Children’ might not after all have a release in India. We are however yet to receive an official confirmation regarding the news.

It was Ronit Roy, who plays a key character in the film who tweeted that “Midnights Chidren will probably not be screened in india. Dvd’s will be the only option. Sadly!!!”. Ronit later tweeted again that “Great News!!! Just got to know from Deepa that Negotiations are on for a Midnights Children – India release. Yipppeee!!!!!”

Written and directed by Deepa Mehta, the film features an ensemble cast of Shriya Saran, Satya Bhabha, Siddharth Narayan, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Seema Biswas, Shahana Goswami, Samrat Chakrabarti, Rahul Bose, Anita Majumdar and Darsheel Safary.
