Attakathi (2012) Tamil Movie Review Aggregator

‘Attakathi’, the Tamil romantic comedy film directed by Pa. Ranjith, a former assistant of Venkat Prabhu, has been produced by Thirukumaran Entertainments and stars Dinesh, Nandita and Aishwarya in the lead roles. The film has been well received by the critics.

IBN Live says its refreshing: “We all know what kind of films director Venkat Prabhu can present – cool themes that would lure youngsters. When his protege Pa Ranjith forays independently as filmmaker, he has done his mentor proud by giving a similar movie that is entertaining and catchy.”

Rediff asserts that the film is worth a watch: “Just when you think you’ve had enough of rural love stories that have heroes taking up aruvaals at every turn, or urban superheroes who bash up a hundred goons to save their grandmothers, comes a film like Studio Green’s Attakathi (Paper Knife).”

Sify adds that it is above average: “Attakathi is slow in parts and the story seems stretched. The climax is predictable and not entirely convincing. But we recommend that you make time for this charming little treat of a film, as it has an inherent sweetness and honesty that will stay with you.”
