220px Kalakalappu Movie Posters Kalakalappu (2012) Tamil Movie Review Aggregator‘Kalakalappu’, the action comedy film directed by Sundar C and produced by his wife Kushboo Sundar stars Vimal, Shiva, Anjali and Oviya in the lead roles. The film has been released and has generated mixed reviews, though most of the reviews point to the positive. Take a look!

IBNLive thinks the film is non-stop fun: “Sundar C has shown his value as a director of commercial entertainers earlier and reinforces it again with a bang with ‘Kalakalappu’, which surely turns out to be a summer treat. It was first titled as ‘Masala Cafe’ before it was changed but it would have hardly mattered as it is non-stop fun for the audience.”

Rediff feels it fails to impress: “Avni Cinemax’s Kalakalappu (earlier titled Masala Café), his 25th film as a director, comes with a battalion of well-known names, but whether it actually satisfies the tag of a rollicking comedy is doubtful. Kalakalappu does have its funny moments, but only a few of them work. It doesn’t look like Sundar C has capitalised on his cast, or his plot – both of which seem to have had potential.”

Sify calls it a fun-ride: “On the whole, Kalakalappuis good fun while it lasts, with the second half better than the first. Sundar C and UTV have provided 2 hours 30 minutes of jolly good fun and slapstick madness.”
