Leelai Movie Posters Mycineworld Com 5 219x300 Leelai (2012) Tamil Movie Review AggregatorLeelai, the Tamil romantic comedy film directed by Andrew Louis and produced by Ramesh Babu, stars newcomers Shiv Pandit and Manasi Parekh in lead roles along with Santhanam and Suhasini Raju in pivotal roles. The film has opened to positive reviews all over!

Rediff agrees that the film is worth a watch: “While the first half moves at a spanking pace, the second half sags lightly, with minor plot-holes and songs that hinder the pace.  Andrew Louis’s screenplay has plenty of pep, revolves around human emotions and sticks to realism most of the time.”

Sify feels the film is good fun: “Leelai is a cool light-hearted rom-com from debutant director Andrew Louis. The film at 2 hours and 15 minutes is an enjoyable romantic ride, laced with peppy music and good fun. The story is wafer thin but it is the packaging and one liners which helps the film to a large extent.”

India Glitz says this is interesting cinema: “ Boy meets girl and they fall in love. They encounter troubles, overcome all odds and finally hold hands. This is what a romantic story means in Tamil cinema. Debutant filmmaker Andrew Louis has consciously chosen to deviate from this cliched path to render a rom-com that is interesting and entertaining.”

After lots of physic love subjects movies (3, mayakam enna, motupoluthum un karpanaigal…), this movie is pleasant one… awesome screenplay, acting, music and camera.. good to see that the director has struck to the plot and not inlcluding any club or kuthu songs.. especially, it is good that he has maintained tamil dialog’s thro’out the movie and not including any unnecessary english words or accent… a must watch for this holiday season…………

  • Martin says:

A most entertaining film. No vulgarity of any sort. No violence. Plenty of humor throughout. Gripping storyline.

  • Subramanian says:

Nice Film. After seeing the interesting promos two years back I was waiting for this film to release. The film has held up to the high hopes. The director can hopefully continue to deliver even in his future films. The songs & BGM were very good and apt for a Romantic film.
