Life is Beautiful (2012) Telugu Movie Review Aggregator
‘Life Is Beautiful’ , the Telugu film written, produced and directed by Sekhar Kammula has been released. The film stars six newcomers with Shriya Saran, Anjala Zaveri and Amala Akkineni in key roles and critics seem to be mighty pleased.
Rediff says its a slice of life film: “Sekhar Kammula’s films are simple tales with strong characterisation, drawn from his environment and experience of life. Memories, reminiscences, nostalgia, emotions are seamlessly woven into the kernel of the story. Life is Beautiful may be long, it may be similar to Happy Days and have certain flaws, but this Sekhar Kammula film appeals to our emotions and experience of a certain way of life.”
DNA India feels this one is a really nice film: “Yes, the film is a bit too long and there are many scenes that could have been edited out or even shot better — but all said and done… the three-hour long tale leaves you smiling, gushing and crying at several intervals. You leave the theatre feeling better about the world and thankful for the smallest joys in life — which we think is more than what Sekhar Kammula could have asked for.”
The Times of India agrees: “Sekhar is undoubtedly an expert when it comes to portraying the most delicate emotions in a classy manner. He succeeds in capturing the innocence of adolescence, but the pace of the storytelling is slow, particularly towards the second half.”
