Lucky (2012) Telugu Movie Review Aggregator

‘Lucky’, the 2012 Telugu film written and directed by Hari, which stars Srikanth and Meghana Raj in lead roles has been released. Critics have panned the film.

The Times of India thinks the film is tacky: “Simply put, the movie is a tacky Tollywood adaptation of the 2000 romantic comedy What Women Want. Well, the original flick had the good looking charm of Mel Gibson, the flair of Helen Hunt, quirky humor and an original idea going for it. In contrast, this Telugu version has Srikanth, Meghana, some humourless jokes and a message – Men only have to try to listen to women to realize that each one of them is as great as our mothers.”

Rediff feels it fails in execution: “Lucky ends up as a film for the masses with not much of refinement in the treatment. One even wonders how Srikkanth who plays the lead (Lakshmi Narasimha) accepted this film even though he is the saving grace in terms of his acting but can’t elevate the film to a certain acceptability level.”

Cine Josh sounds disappointed as well: “First half is a big engaging with hilarious episodes here and there. Second half has many distractions with dramatically boring episodes. Overall, if you are missing Srikanth from a while and wanted to see him in flow…go to ‘Lucky’ else stay away.”
