Nuvva Nena (2012) Review Aggregator

Nuvva Nena, the Telugu Romantic comedy film directed by debutante P. Narayana and produced by Vamsi Krishna under SVK Cinema banner has been released. The film stars Shriya Saran, Allari Naresh, Sharvanand, and Vimala Raman in lead roles. Mixed reviews are what the film has garnered.

Rediff calls it a fun-ride: “Debutant director Narayana scripts and directs this entertainer which is fun from the word go. Two guys going after the same girl is nothing new but Narayana’s casting (Allari Naresh, Sharwanand and Shriya) makes Nuvva Nena a good film to watch.”

Full Hyderabad doesn’t share the enthusiasm: “Nuvva Nena is the kind of film that seeks to remind you that even the most bankable of stars is, well, human. And more important, that comedy doesn’t grow on trees. The makers of the movie attempt to be hilarious, but fall far short of what they set out to do.”

Cinegoer thinks that at best, the film is watchable: “The only aspect where Nuvva Nena differs from the David Dhawan comedy Deewana Mastana is that it is not over the top and loud but that doesn’t make this story a must watch. Ali makes you smile at times but there is nothing that will make you sit through the end, after a point the Tom and Jerry skirmish gets on the nerves.”
