Vishal’s ‘Samaran’ changes to ‘Samar’; to release in July
Vishal’s new film ‘Samaran’ has gone for a title change! It has been retitled as ‘Samar’ and is reportedly a high voltage action film that is being directed by Thiru. It features Trisha Krishnan in the lead role along with Vishal, with Sunaina, Manoj Bajpai and J. D. Chakravarthy appearing in supporting roles.
Trisha Krishnan, who had previously declined four of Vishal’s films – Sathyam, Thoranai, Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai and Vedi – was signed as the female lead for the first time. Aravind Swamy and Prakash Raj were approached to do the main negative role, but ultimately it has been done by Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpai.
Vishal reportedly plays a forest trekker in the film, which has been shot chiefly in the forests of Chalakkudy. A few portions of the film have also been shot in Ooty. China and Thailand have also played hosts to the film’s shoot. ‘Samar’ is being fast readied up for a July 2012 release.
