Sitcom badshah K K Rajeev’s entry into the tinsel world, was a much anticipated one. His debut directorial venture ‘Njanum Ente Familyum’ stars Jayaram, Mamta Mohandas, Manoj K Jayan and Mythili in the lead roles. Seems like Rajeev hasn’t been able to repeat the magic on the big screen. Take a look at the reviews!

Nowrunning feels the script totally leads the film to a disaster: “K K Rajeev’s directorial debut in feature films ‘Njanum Ente Familyum’ talks of an extramarital relationship that goes awry, and ruins a marriage in the process. Despite solid performances from the leading cast, the source material and the odd decisions in the script weaken the film totally.”

Rediff terms it average: “The initial portion of the story is gripping, but that does not last. Jayaram has a sober role after a long time and he does dig his teeth into it. Mamata repeats her charming wife act one more time without blemish. Mythili, as the mystery girl, does very well. Manoj K Jayan is becoming an indispensable part of every film and leaves his mark in the small role he is given here. On the whole, Njanum Ente Familiyum is an average but well-packaged family film.”

Sify finds the film tedious: “K K Rajeev, who is known for some fine serials that he has churned out for the various TV channels, makes his debut on big screen with Njanum Ente Familyum. Scripted by Cherian Kalpakavady, this film unfurls in a highly old fashioned way and it requires real patience to sit through this predictable and inane drama. “
