Submitted by on July 12, 2012 – 5:36 pmNo Comment |

The first 24 x 7 movie channel in Malayalam, Asianet Movies is all set to kick off this Sunday, and the first film that it would be serving its viewers would be Lal Jose’s ‘Spanish Masala’. This would also be the first time the film that stars Dileep and Kunchacko Boban in the lead roles, would be aired on television.

The channel plans to air latest movies, super hit films as well as ever green films that merit repeated viewing. Besides Malayalam films, Tamil and Hindi super hit films would also be aired. And it’s just not films that the channel plans to broadcast; there would be film related programmes, interviews and plenty more.

In terms of viewership, Asianet is often regarded as the most popular Malayalam-language television channel. Asianet was the first privately owned television channel in Malayalam and the second to broadcast in the language. There would be  four channels under Asianet when Asianet Movies starts its telecast, Asianet, Asianet Plus and Asianet News being the other three.
