Reviews are mostly negative.

Nowrunning says the film lacks energy and imagination: “M A Nishad’s ‘No.66 Madhura Bus’ lacks the very vital energy and imagination that should have set it soaring towards box office success. It has an initially intriguing plot that falls flat as a drama as the bus progresses ahead.”

Rediff thinks of it as a disappointment: “No. 66 Madhura Bus turns out to be a disappointment considering that it had promising actors and a director with a good reputation and track record.”

Sify totally agrees: “No.66 Madurai Bus is meant for those who don’t take movies too seriously. If you have decided to watch this one, better leave your brain back home. Or else, you will end up thinking only about the million goofs in between!”
