Madhupal’s second directorial venture ‘Ozhimuri’ has released to excellent  critical reviews. Here is what they have to say about the film.

Nowrunning says its an intense film: “The forever shifting views on truth offers a challenging experience, and Madhupal’s ‘Ozhimuri’ is no easy watch. It burns slowly, spurting off those sparks every now and then, and even when the smoke and fire appears to have died out, you sense that crimson embers lie glowing and buried deep inside.”

Rediff says the film is outstanding: “Director Madhupal’s new film Ozhimuri, penned by renowned bilingual writer Jeyamohan, dwells on what makes people stay together even when it seems that their relationship has gone sour or turned outright abusive. Ozhimuri proves that Madhupal is a director of substance who can tackle diverse themes with depth. This outstanding film will surely be talked about in the coming days.”

The Times of India adds that the film is impressive: “Madhupal’s Ozhimuri will be noted for two reasons; for faithfully reproducing an age swathed in certain traditions and for some soulful and sometimes stunning characters who straddle age, customs and traditions that shape their lives.”
