Mohanlal’s new film ‘Grand Master’ that has been directed by B Unnikrishnan is all set for a May 7 release. It’s learned that the television rights of the film have been bagged by Surya TV for a whopping 4 crores, probably one among the highest ever paid for a Malayalam film!

‘Grand Master’ is an investigative thriller film that has Mohanlal playing a police officer. Priyamani is the heroine of the film, and would play Mohanlal’s wife in the film, who is a lawyer by profession. There is also Anoop Menon playing an important role in the film. Roma, Narein and several other actors lend support.

Initially slated for a release on April 27, the film has been postponed by a week in order to avoid a clash with ‘Tezz’ another Mohanlal film that has been scheduled for the same day. ‘Grand Master’ marks the entry of film producers UTV into Malayalam films.
