‘Thira’ would be my first thriller film: Vineeth Sreenivasan

Lovers of good cinema would definitely miss Vindhyan, the film producer who is well renowned for having produced such films as ‘Shalini Ente Koottukari’, ‘Vadakkunokki Yanthram’ and ‘Ore Kadal’.

Vindhyan had turned film producer at the age of nineteen, and ‘Oru Swakaryam’ was the first film that he had ever produced. Though he had not produced a large number of films, the few that he had done were indeed noteworthy.

Vindhyan had produced three Shyamaprasad films – ‘Ore Kadal’, ‘Elektra’ and ‘Arike’ – of which ‘Ore Kadal’ won the National Award for Best Film, and ‘Elektra’ won the State Award for Best Film. The unfortunate demise of the producer would no doubt be a great loss to the Malayalam film industry.
