This Friday would see the release of ‘Asuravithu’, A K Sajan’s new film that stars Asif Ali in the title role. The film, that in the director’s own words is an action – family thriller, would play a decisive role in Asif Ali’s career, when his prowess at pulling in the crowds would be tried and tested.

‘Asuravithu’ tells the story of Don Bosco (Asif Ali), a seminarian who gets drawn into the big bad world of the Cochin under world – a dark world ruled by Abbaji (Vijayaraghavan) and his sons. Circumstances throw him into the midst of a torrent, where he thrashes about and learns to survive.

Besides Asif and Vijayaraghavan, the film stars a host5 of actors as Baburaj, Siddique, Harisree Ashokan, Chali Pala, Arun, Jegannatha Verma, Lena, Reshmi Boban, Seema G Nair and Vidya Lekshmi. Samvrutha Sunil is the heroine.

Vishnu Namboothiri has handled the camera, while Ranjith Touchriver has edited the film. The musical score has been composed by Alphons and Rajesh Mohan, while the lyrics have been penned by Kaithapram and Rafeeq Ahmed. ‘Asuravithu’ has been produced by Shaji Thanaparambil.
