Rajdhani Express (2013) Hindi Movie Review Aggregator
‘Rajdhani Express’ that marks the acting debut of ace tennis player Leander Paes and which stars Jimmy Shergill, Gulshan Grover, Puja Bose, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Sudhanshu Pandey and Sayali Bhagat in key roles has been released. Critical opinions regarding the film do not sound all that encouraging.
Rediff calls it a train wreck: “Rajdhani Express, directed by Ashok Kohli, is a train-wreck of a movie that has a non-existent plot, but pretends as if it is a racy thriller. It’s got a group of four lunatics and they are enough to convince you to never board the country’s flagship train ever again.”
The Times of India says the film turns out to be an unintentional comedy: “Rajdhani Express has a thought-provoking premise but the execution fails miserably. The film aspires to raise grave questions about the current scenario of our society at large and immoral tendencies of people but all of that gets overshadowed by poor editing, over-the-top performances, pointless scenes and illogical dialogues.”
Koimoi however feels that you could “go for Rajdhani Express, if social dramas interest you and you do not really mind experimenting with your film watching schedule. There is a higher chance the frequent sloppiness of a few characters get on to you. But if you are looking for a good story here’s one if you merely excuse the not-so-great execution.”
