Shahid (2013) Hindi Movie Preview

‘Shahid’ is a 2013 biographical Hindi film directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Anurag Kashyap. It is based on the life of lawyer and human rights activist, Shahid Azmi, who was assassinated in 2010 in Mumbai.

The film was shot on a small budget over nine months. Much of the film’s dialogue was improvised. It stars Rajkumar Yadav, Tigmanshu Dhulia, K K Menon, Prabal Panjabi and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub in key roles.

The film had its world premiere at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival’s ‘City to City’ programme in September 2012.The film was selected for distribution by UTV Motion Pictures and is set to release on October 18th, 2013.
