The film that was initially expected to be directed by V K Prakash, would now be directed by Aji John, who had earlier directed the Jayasurya film ‘Nallavan’.

The film would be shot on locations at Sri Lanka and Malaysia, would also have Baburaj playing a key role. The film that was announced after ‘Cocktail’, thus finally seems to be making it beyond the conceptual stage!

Radha Verma, who has acted in films like ‘Crazy Gopalan’ and ‘Seniors’ would play Baburaj’s heroine in the film. Radha would also be playing a police officer – ASP Devika Ramanath – in the film.

The film has been scripted by Vinay Chennithala. Devan, Senthil, Anoop Chandran, Mamukkoya, Veena, Sruthibala and Kulappulli Leela would offer support. The shoot of Wonderful’ that is being produced by Vicky Raj under the banner of Raj Productions is currently progressing at a brisk pace.

Baburaj says that he has often discussed with Mammootty regarding the preparation of excellent dishes. He adds that he would like to cook for the Megastar some day.

Among the actresses, Baburaj says that Kavya Madhavan and Maithili ring him up often to clarify their doubts in cooking. He also remembers that his wife Vani Vishwanath was also floored by his cooking when they met initially.

The film, that stars Subin Sunny, Suresh Krishna, Baburaj, Tini Tom and Sandhya in the supporting roles, is reportedly based on the life of the actress Silk Smitha.

Sana has reportedly come up with a sizzling act that has left even the film makers stunned. The film is being scriptd by Kaloor Dennis and is being made under the banner of Nice Movies.

Now the character of Cook Babu would play the lead role in another film pretty soon. This film will not be a sequel to ‘Salt ‘n Pepper’, but would in fact elaborate on this one character alone, from the former film. Aashiq Abu is unlikely to direct the film however, as he is busy with his new film ‘Da Thadiya’.

Baburaj will essay the role of Cook Babu againm while Lal, Mythili, Swetha Menon and Asif Ali would make an appearance. The rest of the cast and crew are still being finalised. Baburaj’s ‘Naughty Professor’ in which he had donned the lead role, had graced the screens a couple of weeks back, and was downright rejected by the audience.

Rediff states that the film is crude: “This film is supposed to be a comedy but the humour is crude if not outright offensive. What is more distasteful is the ‘make hay while the sun shines’ attitude of the think-tank behind this venture, targeting the lowest common denominator purposely.”

Sify calls it avoidable: “It is evident that the makers of Naughty Professor are not much bothered about the audience. Some of those mimicry shows in TV could provide you some laughs but no such luck with this one. Now, the choice is entirely yours!”

Lekshmi Gopalaswami is the heroine. Lena, Tini Tom, Innocent, Mythili, Shafna, Vishnupriya and several other actors lend support. The script is by Baburaj himself. ‘Naughty Professor’ has been produced by Arun Jose and Sreekanth Pillai under the banner of Anna and Amala Films.

Cinematography is by Sajeth Menon, and the musical score is by Jassie Gift. The film would grace the screens this week.

Thus along with the role change in the characters that he plays on screen, Baburaj also has been experimenting with some role changes off screen. His directorial debut ‘Black Dahlia’ was released a few years back, and another directorial venture of his ‘Manushyamrugam’ also had graced the screens recently.

However, in his latest film ‘Naughty Professor’, Baburaj has turned singer as well. Let’s wait and see if the actor gets accepted as a singer as well! He is the scenarist of ‘Naughty Professor’, though it should be remembered that it’s nothing new to him, having scripted both his directorial ventures.
