He has reportedly stated in the interview that ‘Immanuel’ was a film that he had done based on personal relations, and that when he saw his character on screen he felt it could have been much better. “For that matter, I feel the same when I watch most films of mine,” said Fahad.

He added that the audience might have liked his character and performance, but he doesn’t think of it as a great thing.

Namitha would be doing the lead role opposite Kunchacko Boban in Lal Jose’s new film that has been titled ‘Pullipulikalum Aatinkuttiyum’. The film is being scripted by Sindhuraj.

Namitha has also signed two other films reportedly, the details of which would be revealed soon.

Mammootty remembers that the script writer Vijeesh could communicate what he had in his mind really well, and adds that his narration was like watching the movie itself.

‘Emmanuel’ that has been directed by Lal Jose, also stars new comer Reenu Mathews in the lead role along with Mammootty.

The much loved director however adds that awards need not necessarily place any additional responsibility on him as a film maker. He makes it a point to work hard for each and every film of his, irrespective of whether he has just been presented with an award or not.

The director has been on a winning streak of late, with his latest films like ‘Diamond Necklace’ and ‘Ayaalum Njanum Thammil’ turning out to be huge hits at the box office.

However, Menon says that he will not be able to accept Lal Jose’s offer, since his daughter would be getting married next month. Menon says that Mammootty himself had invited him over to be a part of ‘Immanuel’, and adds that he would have loved to be a part of the film.

Menon feels that though he would not be able to do ‘Immanuel’, he would soon be seen with Mammootty in another film.

‘Emmanuel’ stars Mammootty in the lead role, and he would play an employee of a publisher. As the publisher decides to close shop, Emmanuel and his family find their livelihood threatened.

The film has been scripted by newcomer A C Vijeesh. It has been almost nine years since Mammootty and Lal Jose worked together, except for the short film ‘Puramkazhchakal’, which was a short film that was part of the ‘Kerala Cafe’ anthology.

Several promisning projects with leading directors are being planned, one of which is ‘Emmanuel’ that would be directed by ace director Lal Jose.

The director, who is currently on a successful run, having delivered two hits in the years already – ‘Diamond Necklace’ and ‘Ayalum Njanum Thammil’ – is expected to bring about a change in Mammootty’s fortunes. The shoot of the film is expected to start by the end of the year.

Reports have been pouring in that the film’s lead actor Prithviraj himself might remake the film in Hindi, and that efforts are on to rope in none other than Amitabh Bachchan to play the role that Prathap Pothan had essayed in the original film. It hasn’t yet been decided as to who will direct the Bollywood version.

Meanwhile, Prithvi is busy with his second Bollywood film ‘Aurangazeb’, though his debut film ‘Ayyaa’ failed to create wonders at the box office.
