A scene that required her to be hit by a car was essayed to perfection by the actress who was held by ropes attached to a crane. The action sequence was canned by Rajasekharan who had shot the action sequences for films like ‘Nadodigal’, ‘Adukalam’ and ‘Traffic’.

‘Red’ is being directed by Vasudev Sanal. Asif Ali, Lal, Sreenivasan, Nandu, Manikuttan and Lena will be seen in key roles in the film.

Lal would reportedly play a gynecologist in the film, which would have major actresses like Rima Kallingal, Sanush and Sandra Thomas in key roles. Aju Varghese would also be seen in an important role.

Lekshmi, veteran actress would make a comeback of sorts through the film. Aneesh Anwar had earlier directed ‘Mullamottum Munthirichaarum’ which did not do too well the box office.

Here is what Nowrunning had to say about it: “Shutter’ is a film that would linger in your mind, a long time after you have walked out of the cinema hall. It displays a heartfelt confidence that arises out of an absorbing theme that is resonant and revelatory. Filmed with much care, Joy Mathew’s directorial debut reinstates your faith in fine cinema, and has already made it to my list of the most gratifying films of the year.”

Rediff thinks the film is interesting as well: “Shutter deserves the acclaim it has already received and we can only wish that its good run continues at the box-office too.”

India Glitz joins in: “Shutter’ is a must watch for all those who want to see refreshingly different threads and fine narratives. Definitely prescribed for a satisfactory watch.”

Nowrunning thinks its an everyday thriller: “’10.30 am Local Call’ is what you would call an everyday thriller, that lacks quite a few things, implausibility being one of them. At the core of it lies a very vital issue as woman abuse, but the treatment leaves a lot to be desired.”

India Glitz states that its slightly better: “On the whole,’ this ’10 30 am Local call’ has a decent and absorbing narratives and some good performances coupled with a fine technical side, soulful BG and music as its aces.”

Lal is also sad that he hasn’t got the award for Best Actor, but adds that he is only glad that Prithviraj has bagged the award for his performance in ‘Celluloid’.

Lal feels that Joy Mathew deserved recognition as a debutante director. He also feels that Sajitha Madathil could have been the Best Actress. However, Rima deserves the award as well.

Nowrunning claims to have been knocked out the apple: “The worn out script turns out to be the worm in Newton’s apple. Weak humor and shaky plotting see to it that it drops right on Newton’s head, knocking him out as well as those unfortunate ones among us who have gathered around to watch him in action.”

Sify states that you should do anything else but watch this film: “Isaac Newton s/o Philipose is loud and absurd even for those who are looking for brainless entertainers. Go for a walk or sleep for a while, which could be a more sensible option than this ridiculous misadventure.”

Nowrunning feels the film is a disaster: “Mad Dad’ is a long winding, theatrical movie that whines on and on about a man who is a bit too much in love. The best that comes out of this two and a half hour long tedious exercise is that it introduces before the audience a remarkably talented actor – Nazriya Nasim.”

Sify says its a test on the nerves of the audience: “Maad Dad is a total waste of time, money or energy and is agonizingly boring. You can go on and on about the film’s flaws but then, can this sham be called a film in the first place? Let the makers decide that first!”
