Madhuri is one of the most loved actressed that Bollywood has ever produced, and her popularity continues undiminished over these years, though it has been quite some time since she had had a Bollywood release.

We hear that it was producer Karan Johar who had roped in La Dixit to do the sensational item number for the film. And the makers have released the first look pictures of the actress from the film that have gone totally viral online! And Ranbir had revealed recently to a leading film publication that it was his dream to work with Madhuri, and that he was super excited about it!

Lyricist Javed Akhtar has now revealed that it was Madhuri Dixit whom he had in mind while penning the lyrics of the film, since Madhuri was initially supposed to do the project. She was replaced by Manisha later.

He made the revelation at a recent event that had Madhuri herself, Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar and singer Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan in attendance.

And now the gang has got even sturdier with Juhi Chawla all set to join Madhuri’s gang. Bollywood enthusiasts are all excited with the opportunity to see the two of them together on screen for the first time ever.

‘Gulab Gang’ is loosely based on the real life story of Sampath Pal, who had led the Gulabi Gang in Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh. The shoot of the film is expected to start in December 2012.

Rani Mukherji was on the much popular show to promote her upcoming film ‘Aiyyaa’ that would be her release after a hiatus of several months. She has been paired with Southern star Prithviraj in the film.

Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit who judges the show along with director Karan Johar, was quick to rise to occasion and joined Rani on stage, which had the media clicking away. And the results we hear were spectacular.

“Busy on #Jhalak yesterday. Shot two episodes! Met with cast of Barfi, Ranbir and Priyanka. Kareena also there for Heroine. Met Eleana for the first time. She is very sweet. Had a great time with all of them,’ she tweeted.

And it was not just Madhuri either! Senior Actor Anupam Kher, who was seen in the Malayalam film ‘Pranayam’ recently tweeted his Onam greetings as well. Singer Shreya Ghoshal, one of the most popular singers in Malayalam at the moment tweeted, “Wishing all a very happy Onam. May loads of happiness and prosperity usher in your lives.”

Raveena Tandon was another Bollywood celebrity to wish Onam greetings. “Happy Onam to all my friends!! God bless! Love and happiness, may this be a super duper year for all!!” went her tweet. Neil Nitin Mukesh also joined in with his tweet that went, “Wishing everyone a happy Onam. God bless.” Shreyas Talpade, Ranvir Shorey and Madhur Bhandarkar also wished Onam greetings this year!

And what a show it was, when a divine looking Madhuri made her appearance, dazzling in a gorgeous lehanga choli that looked out of the world with a red dupatta. Sporting sindoor on her forehead, Madhuri was every bit of the ‘Devi’ that Anju Modi had conceptualised.

Madhuri’s husband Dr. Sriram Nene was seated right at the front, and was seen cheering for wifey. Anju and Madhuri have worked together for some time, and the designer has been crafting some excellent costumes for the much-adored Bollywood actress!

Madhuri says that of all the things that have caught her attention, what has impressed her the most is that the film industry has become much more disciplined than it was the case earlier.

Madhuri has signed up for some wonderful films this time, like ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ and ‘Gulab Gang’ and looks forward to being part of Bollywood all over again. No wonder her fans are on cloud nine these days!

Madhuri is expected to join the film in October 2012, and the film would be shot and completed in such a way that it would be ready for release on the International Women’s Day on March 8, 2013.

The film will have Madhuri in a deglamorised avatar, and would speak of women power. It is expected to have several accomplished actresses sharing screen space with Madhuri.

The show that would start tomorrow would will have eleven designers like Manish Malhotra, J Valaya, Anju Modi, Ashima- Leena, Manish Arora, Anamika Khanna, Gaurav Gupta, Shantanu -Nikhil, and Manav Gangwani showcasing their creations. Along with Madhuri, Sharmila Tagore would be seen on the ramp as well.

Madhuri would showcase Anju Mpdi’s creations while Sharmila will act as the show stopper for designers Ashima – Leena. The third edition of DCW that would go on for five days would be held at Taj Palace.
