He suggested that actors like Mammootty who are past sixty should give way to newcomers. He also stated that perhaps Kalabhavan Mani did not know that the minister for forests is no longer K B Ganesh Kumar. Perhaps this is the reason why he attacked forest officials, he added sarcastically.

The film that tells the story of a society requires a much bigger budget than his debut film ‘Adaminte Makan Abu’, says Salim.

‘Kunjananthante Kada’ stars Mammootty in the lead role. Nyla Usha is the heroine. Balachandra Menon, Siddique, Salim Kumar, Yavanika Gopalakrishnan and Muhammed Perambra lend support.

You would get to hear this message on the official phones of the excise department, revealed the commissioner.

Other actors as Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Suresh Gopi, Dileep and Innocent have also been part of similar government campaigns.

Reports also suggest that the director might invite Mammootty to do the lead role in this film. That would be a whopper combo indeed, since we have never seen the two amazing actors together.

This film would be scripted by Ranjan Pramod, who had earlier scripted the hit Joshi film ‘Naran’. This would be the first time Mammootty will be working with Ranjan Pramod.

The shoot of the film would commence in September ’13. The last time Mammootty and Joshi had joined hands together was for the multi starrer film ’20 – 20′.

Mammukka was busy shooting for Ranjith’s ‘Kadal Kadannoru Maathukutty’ in Germany, from where he would head for Johannesburg.

He would return to Kerala on the 14th of June, and join the sets of ‘Deivathinte Swantham Cleetus’ on the 15th.

Kajal Aggarwal would be the heroine in the film, that would also have Vijay Sethupathi and Santhanu Bhagyaraj making special appearance. Yuvan Shankar Raja would compose the music for the film.

Reports suggest that the film would be shot on a whopping budget of 100 crores and that Kamal would start working on the project once he has completed work on ‘Vishwaroopam 2′.

The unit had a surprise visitor the other day when the Mettmann Mayor Brent Gunter paid a visit to the sets along with his wife and met up with Mammootty.

A pic that shows a clean shaven, dashing Mammootty along with the Mayor has gone viral on social networks. Mammootty plays a Malayali based in Germany in the film, that would also have Mohanlal and Dileep playing guest roles.

He has reportedly stated in the interview that ‘Immanuel’ was a film that he had done based on personal relations, and that when he saw his character on screen he felt it could have been much better. “For that matter, I feel the same when I watch most films of mine,” said Fahad.

He added that the audience might have liked his character and performance, but he doesn’t think of it as a great thing.

‘Kunjali Marakkar’ stars Mamootty in the lead role and will also have Prithviraj playing a key role in it. Shankar Ramakrishnan will script the movie.

It is with great expectations that the Malayalam film industry is looking forward to ‘Kunjali Marakkar’. Let is hope the film is able to live up to these expectations.

The director has in a recent interview, reportedly stated that though he and script writers Bobby and Sanjay had approached the star with two different stories, Mammootty had not liked the stories. Roshan added that if he is to do a film with Mammootty in the future, the actor would have to be ready to change into the character that the story demands.  However these reports that he had challenged Mammootty are totally baseless, says the director.
